(Subfamily Myrmicinae)


The genus Myrmecina was established by Curtis (1892), and is assigned to the tribe Myrmecinini together with Acanthomyrmex, Pristomyrmex and Perissomyrmex (Bolton 2003).

Five species have so far been found from Vietnam.

Colonies of Myrmecina species are found in litter and soil.
