(Subfamily Myrmicinae)


The genus Dacatria was established under the tribe Proattini by Rigato (1994), and is assigned to Stenammini by Bolton (2003).

One species has so far been found from Vietnam.

Dacatria templaris is a ground dwelling species in well-developed forests, and nests in litter and underground. Adults are brick red and dull and are clad in dirt, and they, like those of Proatta butteli Forel, freeze for a while when their nests are exposed, so they easily escape from our sight.
